El Boletín
Curated articles, videos, grammar and culture for advanced Spanish learners. Delivered to your inbox for 9am every Saturday, to enjoy over your morning coffee.
Learning Spanish at the advanced level is hard.
At the beginner and intermediate stages, there is support everywhere: textbooks, apps, YouTube channels, teachers.
But at advanced? The training wheels come off. You’re told: “Just read native content. Just watch everything.”
Which sounds fine — until you’re staring at an endless sea of articles and videos. Overwhelming. Time-consuming. Unsure of where to start.
That’s why so many learners plateau. You feel comfortable… but not fluent.
And that’s where El Boletín comes in.
What you’ll get every Saturday morning
Each issue brings together the Spanish content we’ve been enjoying over the previous week - giving you a starting point and structure to follow, so you can keep making progress:
One Spanish article: real-world, with a glossary of advanced terms - so you actively engage with the text and grow your vocabulary, instead of skimming.
One YouTube video: hand-picked, with the key vocabulary pulled out, so listening practice is active instead of passive.
One grammar snippet: short, targeted, and designed to help advanced students close the final gaps between good and fluent.
One cultural insight: because fluency isn’t just words, it’s the background knowledge that natives take for granted.
Full access to the growing archive: every past article, video, grammar tip, and cultural note saved in one place, ready whenever you are.
Access to our chat community of advanced learners: which will grow over time, offering support, encouragement, and solidarity from people on the same journey.
The result
Instead of drowning in too much content, you’ll have a clear, focused path.
Instead of studying randomly, you’ll know exactly where to put your time.
Instead of plateauing, you’ll keep progressing.
From advanced. To fluent. Together.
Who’s behind this?
I’m Gareth — a fellow advanced learner and Editor of El Boletín. I’ve been studying Spanish since 2011, and I’ve lived in Spain and South America, working with some inspirational teachers from across those regions on my path towards near-native fluency.
But as every language student knows, you never stop learning. That’s why I established El Boletín in September 2025, to curate the new Spanish articles, videos, grammar quirks and cultural curiosities that I enjoy each week - while building a community of learners on the same journey.
Do you have any thoughts, feedback or things you’d like to see in the newsletter? Please do reach out - you’ll be helping to make El Boletín better for everyone.
